ELIGIBILITY & RULES

Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 as of January 1st, 2019.

APPLICANT ASSESSMENT

  • Musical and technical ability

  • Past performance achievements and awards

  • Motivation/desire to learn

  • Surrounding skills/attributes (personality, social media presence, communication skills, etc..).

OUR STANDARD

  • A high standard of attendance will be required--local students who have prior work commitments or other engagements should not apply.

  • Those who are not willing to invest significant time and energy in personal and group practice should not apply.

TUITION DETAILS

FEES BY PROGRAM

The Beethoven String Institute: $2500

The Franz Liszt Institute: $2500

The Composers Institute: $1800

TUITION BREAKDOWN

Housing: $500

Food: $250

Facilities & Staff: $650

Department-wide faculty fee: $400

Instrumental faculty fee: $600

PAYMENT DEADLINES

$200 deposit is due on May 15th.

Full remaining tuition is due no later than May 25th.

A deadline extension form  will be available through our registered applicant portal.  Forms must be submitted no later than May 20th.

SCHOLARSHIPS & AID

Decisions Announced May 6th

MERIT-BASED

Festival Baltimore will award a limited number of merit-based scholarships to deserving applicants.

NEED-BASED

Applicants who demonstrate significant financial need will be considered for need-based aid.  A financial need form form will be available in the submission portal.

'SMALL JOBS'

Festival Baltimore participants will be eligible for a number of employment opportunities to help subsidize tuition costs.  These jobs include social media take-overs, pre-concert greeter, 'kitchen duty', and more.

WORK-STUDY

A limited number of work-study positions will be posted.  Those selected for a work-study position will receive a tuition subsidy between 25-50%.  Festival applicants are encouraged to submit an application for these (found in the submission portal).

A detailing of job descriptions, requirements, and applications for these jobs will be made available in the Submission Portal.

You'll receive a confirmation email with links to our registered applicant portals where you can submit required materials, apply for financial aid, and get a shoe-in for one of our work-studies.

OPTIONAL

The following will not weigh heavily on the committee's acceptance decision.  For applicants interested in a scholarship, it is highly recommended that all optional materials be required.
